Erythema Infectiosum （ Ringworm disease ） is an epidemic rash disease seen mainly in young children and school children.
In Chiba Prefecture, as of the 49th week （ December 2 to December 8, 2024 ） the number of cases reported per fixed point from pediatric fixed point medical institutions was 2.23 （ persons ）, exceeding the national alert threshold of 2.0 （ persons ）.
In particular, the number of infected people has been high in the past. In particular, if a woman who has never been infected in the past is infected with erythema infectiosum during pregnancy, her fetus may also be infected, putting her at risk of serious conditions such as fetal edema and miscarriage.
Avoid contact with people with cold symptoms as much as possible and take basic infection control measures such as washing hands and wearing a mask.
